Why are my recommendation boxes not showing after changing to a new theme?

If you decide to change your store's theme, you may find that our recommendation boxes are not appearing. Here's how to fix it.

Updated over 3 months ago

Our boxes may not show up immediately after a theme change. This issue is caused by our database not being in sync with your store’s latest data:

Shopify sends LimeSpot updates on stores’ data 5-6 times a day. The time gaps between these updates cause the issues with images.

This can be fixed by executing a Manual Sync. A Manual Sync is a request for Shopify to immediately sync LimeSpot’s database with your store’s most recent data.

  1. Go to Content > Manual Sync

  2. Make sure the following options are selected: Sync Products, Sync Product Variants, and Sync Product Images, and click Initiate Sync. You will now see a 'Job Progress' page, giving you updates on the status of your product sync.

  3. Once completed, refresh in browser. All LimeSpot features should be synced and showing on your live store.

Depending on the size of your catalog, the Manual Sync may take a few minutes to complete. You will see a notification on the top right corner of your admin panel once the sync is finished.

Upon changing themes, all previous customizations will no longer appear in our recommendation boxes. You can preview what the automatic customizations will look like for different themes by going to Conversion > Website Personalization > Customize > Box Designer > Global Settings and choosing your theme from the E-commerce section.

Once you click Initiate Sync, the sync has begun on our end even if your Job progress window remains blank. There's no need to click it again—it's in our system and will complete.
