How to boost conversion rate, increase average order value (AOV), and drive revenue with LimeSpot Personalized Discounts on Product Bundles

This guide is applicable to customers on LimeSpot Max, Premium, Essentials, and other legacy plans.

Strategy

Distinguish returning visitors and returning buyers on your site to offer personalized discounts on product bundles as they browse your website.

The strategy presented in this article is based on best practices. However, each store is a bit different and adapting or entirely replacing the segments and offers described below may be recommendable. You can also expand this approach to other segments. Experimentation leads to best results.

Login to the LimeSpot App and navigate to Personalization > Discounts and Promotions. If you do not already have this add-on, click on Start 7-day Free Trial and Activate the Personalized Discounts on Product Bundles add-on.

Step 1 - Create Audience Segments

The Personalized Discounts add-on includes 2 audience segments. In order to offer personalized discounts, you must first create your segments:

  1. Navigate to Personalization > Audience and click on Create

  2. Select Returning visitors from the drown-down list and Save.

  3. Select Returning buyers from the drown-down list and Save.

Need additional segments? Activate Audience Segments add-on.

Step 2 - Create Discount Campaigns

  1. Click Create and use the following information, or update as you see fit:

    1. Set Title to Returning Visitors - 10% off

    2. Set Discount Type to Discount %

    3. Set Discount to 10%

    4. In the Bundle Conditions, enter 0 as the Minimum bundle amount for discount eligibility

    5. In the Discount Combinations, select Shipping Discounts

    6. In the Start / End section you can select when you would like the campaign to start and end. Click Next

    7. Leave the Products tab blank so that the campaign applies to all products. Click Next

    8. Select Returning Visitors for Audience and click Next

    9. Update the Presentation as you see fit and click Next

    10. Review the details and click Complete

    Additional settings are available when defining the Discount Campaigns that are not listed above. Feel free to make changes to the campaign according to this comprehensive guide.

  2. We repeat the steps from above with different values. Click Create and use the following information, or update as you see fit:

    1. Set Title to Returning Buyers - 15% off

    2. Set Discount Type to Discount %

    3. Set Discount to 15%

    4. In the Bundle Conditions, enter 0 as the Minimum bundle amount for discount eligibility

    5. In the Discount Combinations, select Shipping Discounts

    6. In the Start / End section you can select when you would like the campaign to start and end. Click Next

    7. Leave the Products tab blank so that the campaign applies to all products. Click Next

    8. Select Returning Visitors for Audience and click Next

    9. Update the Presentation as you see fit and click Next

    10. Review the details and click Complete

Step 3 - Publish

  1. Navigate to Personalization > Website Personalization and click on Designer

  2. Select Product Page from the navigation dropdown menu on top left

  3. Make sure Frequently Bought Together recommendation box is included on the product page, and its Style is set to Bundle.

  4. Set Product Bundle Discounts checkbox to Enabled.

  5. Save and Publish.
