In this article, you'll learn about LimeSpot attribution and how refunds, discounts, canceled orders, shipping fees, and taxes are factored in.

LimeSpot Sale Attribution

LimeSpot uses three sources to define sales attribution.

Source 1: LimeSpot

A sale or purchase is deemed LimeSpot-assisted when:

  • The purchased product was clicked through a LimeSpot recommendation on the website, mobile app, email, or another integrated third-party app within 7 days of the purchase. In essence, if a shopper clicks on a LimeSpot recommendation box and completes a purchase within that 7-day timeframe, it qualifies as a LimeSpot-assisted sale.

Source 2: Standard

A sale or purchase is attributed to the standard source:

  • If a Shopper purchases from a store, never having clicked on a LimeSpot recommendation.

  • If a shopper clicks on a LimeSpot recommendation box and makes a purchase 7 days or more after the click.

Source 3: Unknown

Unknown sources cannot be reliably tracked and are excluded from LimeSpot analytics. Unknown sources can occur:

  • If certain tokens were not captured or the shopper’s email address is new, a sale that took place within 7 days of a click on a LimeSpot element will not be attributed to LimeSpot or the standard navigation. This usually occurs when marketplaces, mobile apps, and similar tools are used.

  • Sales that were assisted by sources that are not identifiable by LimeSpot’s trackers. These most often include marketplaces and mobile apps.

  • If we cannot track any pre-purchase data for the customer, Unknown Sources are attributed to the sale instead of the Standard Navigation.

7-Day Attribution Window

Industry standards for assisted sales attribution are 90, 45, 30, 14, or 7 days. We have the highest confidence level in our technology's recommendations, so we applied the shortest industry-standard attribution window. We are committed to ensuring our attribution window is competitive with other technologies in the market and does not unfairly lean in our own favor.

Last-Click Attribution

We use the “last-click attribution” model to define which LimeSpot element specifically assisted a sale. This means that if the user clicks on a product through the "Most Popular" box first, then the "Recent Views" box, then again on the "New Arrivals" box, we attribute that click to the "New Arrivals" box and LimeSpot gets credit for just one assist and not three.

Refunds, Discounts, and Canceled Orders

LimeSpot tracks all the refunds, discounts, and order cancelations and automatically applies those to the store analytics. As a result, our calculations of your Total Revenue and LimeSpot-Assisted Revenue exclude refunds, discounts, and canceled orders.

Shipping Fees and Taxes

We exclude the shipping fees and taxes from the revenue we track for stores. We only calculate the actual product price in our analytics.
