The Products settings is the section where you can target your products better. Please note that this advanced feature is only for those on the Premium plan (all Premium references apply to Enterprise packages as well).

To access the Products settings, follow these steps:

Step 1: Go to your LimeSpot Admin Panel (Shopify admin panel > Apps > Personalizer app)
Step 2: Click on Content > Products > Gallery option from the top menu.
Step 3: Here you will see a list of all of your store's products on the left panel. Click on a product and a panel with three tabs: Information, Variants and Targeting will show up on the right side.

Select Product Type, enter Targeting Keywords, select Targeting Rules, and adjust Product Prevalence as needed. Click on Save to complete the process or simply move on to next product. You can tweak LimeSpot's engine to suit your store by adjusting the following properties:

  • Product Prevalence

  • Targeting Keywords

  • Targeting Rules

Product Prevalence

A product's prevalence can be adjusted if you want to promote a product to customers or put it further down in their personalized collection so they don't see it. The default setting for prevalence is set to 'Normal Visibility'; to make a product appear higher up in customers' personalized collections (i.e. promote it), set the prevalence for that product to 'Increase Visibility' or 'Promote'. The higher the prevalence settings, the more priority the product will be given. If you want to make the product appear less in customers' personalized collections, set the prevalence for that product to 'Decrease Visibility'.

Targeting Keywords

Our engine uses Targeting Keywords to prioritize products based on shopper's interests. Our engine looks for these keywords in your shopper's social profile to show the most relevant product(s) to your shoppers.

LimeSpot automatically generates Targeting Keywords for each product, but you can add your own or get rid of the ones our engine has put there. To delete a keyword, click on the x button in the keyword's box. To add a keyword, click on the '+ Keyword' option in the Targeted Keywords box, type in a keyword, then press enter or click on an auto-complete suggestion. The keywords that appear are based on our own dictionary. Therefore, if the word you would like to add is not in our dictionary, please contact us.

Targeting Rules

Targeting Rules are used to choose how products should appear to certain demographics. For example, a Targeting Rule titled Men may specify how products appear to Men. You'll notice there are two options you can select from when choosing a targeting rule for a product: Filter (indicated by a check mark) and Prioritize (indicated by an arrow).

If a product has a Targeting Rule set as Filtered, the product will only appear to shoppers if they match the demographic specified by the Targeting Rule. For example, if a product has the Targeting Rule Men set to Filtered, then that product will only appear to men. It will not appear to women.

If a product has a Targeting Rule set to Prioritized, the product will be considered more important for shoppers if they match the demographic specified by the Targeting Rule. For example, if a product has the Targeting Rule Men set to Prioritized, then that product will be considered more important for men and will show up higher up in their personalized collections. Women will still be able to find the product, but it won't be moved higher up in their personalized collections.

Targeting Rules can be used in combination. For example, if the Targeting Rule Men is set to filter and the Targeting Rule Senior is set to filter as well for a product, then the product will only appear to male seniors
