Some recommendations seem unrelated or out of place. Why is this and how can I fix it?

Selecting the wrong segments can cause our product recommendations to not be very accurate.

Make sure you have chosen the correct Segments (industry) for your store. Click on your username at the top right and go to Account & Billing to access the Industries section.

Also, our LimeSpot engine uses many parameters to relate products for our Recommendation Boxes. Some of these parameters include things like:

  • Product Description

  • Tags

  • Product's Collections

  • Product Type

  • Root-Word Comparison, etc. 

The engine will learn over time and make more accurate recommendations as it gathers more data from your store, it is also possible to train our system to improve relationships much faster. LimeSpot's engine can be taught to recognize relationships between items by creating additional correlations between items. This can be done by adding the same targeting keywords to products, making them the same product type, or declaring them to be part of the same collection.

The fastest and most simple way to do this is to create a series of automatic collections (smart collections) for your products that contain items you think should be related; or, that you'd like our system to consider related.

This can be done in your e-commerce platforms Admin Panel (Shopify, BigCommerce, etc.). The Collection must be visible to your store so that LimeSpot can find it, however you need not publish it to appear as a specific collection on your live store.
