How your product catalog syncs

What LimeSpot imports from your store, how it stays up to date, and why a product might not appear in recommendations.

LimeSpot recommends products from its own copy of your catalog. It builds that copy when you install, then keeps it up to date as your store changes, so shoppers see current products, prices and stock.

What LimeSpot imports

When you install LimeSpot, it imports:

  • products, variants and images,

  • customers and orders,

  • blog articles,

  • your store settings, such as currency.

Products and articles are imported first, then orders. Your past orders give recommendations like Bought Together something to work with from day one.

How long the first import takes depends on how many products and orders you have.

How LimeSpot stays up to date

After the first import, your store tells LimeSpot about changes as they happen. That includes:

  • products created, updated, deleted or published,

  • stock changes,

  • collections created, updated or deleted,

  • new, paid, edited, fulfilled, cancelled and deleted orders,

  • a new theme being published.

You don't need to do anything. If your store is busy and its platform limits how fast apps can read data, LimeSpot waits a few seconds and tries again.

On SHOPLINE, a product change also triggers a check of that product's variants and stock.

When a product is shown

LimeSpot shows a product in recommendations only when both of these are true:

  • The product is published to your online store.

  • At least one variant is available. A variant is available when it's in stock, when you don't track its inventory, or when you allow selling it while out of stock. Stock is added up across all your locations.

Prices look wrong in Studio
