Audience segments group your shoppers by what they do: how often they visit, what they view and buy, how much they spend, the device they use, where they come from and more. Once a segment exists, you can show it its own recommendation boxes, Smart Images, Smart Blocks, Smart Progress Bars and bundle discounts, and sync it to Google Ads.

Build a segment from scratch
Click From Scratch.
Enter a Segment name.
Choose whether shoppers must match all or any of your conditions.
Build the first condition: pick have or have NOT, then a condition type, an operator (for example more than, less than, between), a value and a time scope (in the past a number of days, or in the date range).
Click + Add a condition to add more.
Click Save Segment.
Condition types are grouped into:
Item interactions: product views, add-to-carts, purchases, abandoned cart items, refunds and discounts.
Performance: order count, order amount, purchase amount, time spent.
Access ports: device, operating system, browser, platform and location.
Browsing activity: days with a visit, page URL visited, referral URL, URL parameters such as UTM tags.
Custom events: events your developer sends from your storefront.
Tip
All conditions in a segment must use the same time scope, either "in the past" or a date range. You can look back up to 180 days.
When shoppers join a segment
Shoppers join segments as LimeSpot sees their activity, so new segments start at 0 members. Device, operating system, browser, platform, location, days with a visit, page URL, referral URL and URL parameter conditions can be checked on the first page a shopper lands on. Other conditions, such as product views or orders, can't.
If your segment can't be checked on the landing page, Studio asks Save this segment? Click Save anyway if that's fine for your goal.
Set precedence
A shopper can belong to several segments. To set the order of your segments, click Reorder (shown once you have two or more) and drag them in the Audience Segment Precedence Order window.
Manage segments
Open a segment's ⋮ menu to Edit, Clone, Download CSV, Activate/Deactivate or Delete it. You can't deactivate a segment that a campaign is using. Remove it from the campaign first.
Troubleshooting
You see | Why | What to do |
"That name is used by a built-in segment. Choose a different name." | Template names are reserved | Pick another name |
"All conditions must use the same time scope — either “in the past” or a date range, not a mix." | Conditions mix time scopes | Use one scope for every condition |
"… is in use by a campaign and was kept on." | A campaign targets this segment | Remove it from the campaign, then deactivate |
"You have reached the limit of …" | Your plan's segment limit is reached | Deactivate a segment, or click Contact Support |
"Failed to load audience segments. Please try again." | A loading error | Reload the page |
