One spot on a page can show different recommendations to different shoppers. For example, show Trending Now to new visitors and You May Also Like to returning customers in the same place. Each version is an audience variant of the box. Everyone who doesn't match a variant sees the default box.
Availability
Plan: Growth Agents plan · Platform: SHOPLINE · Needs at least one audience segment
Before you start
Create the audience segments you want to target. See Create audience segments.
Add an audience variant
Click the box on the canvas. The Recommendation Box window opens.
Under the Default Box card, click the add card (Show different products to different audiences).
Pick a box type for the variant.
The variant's settings drawer opens. Under Audience Segments, choose one or more segments. This field is required for variants.
Change the title, layout or other settings if you want. Each variant has its own settings.
Click Save in the drawer, then Publish in the top bar.
Repeat to add more variants. To edit a variant, click its card. To remove one variant, click the trash icon on its card.
Tip
Start with two clear groups, such as new visitors and returning customers. Give new visitors social proof (Most Popular or Trending Now) and returning customers personal picks (You May Also Like or Recently Viewed).
Check what each audience sees
In the top bar, click Preview as anyone.
In the Preview as audience list, pick a segment. The button changes to show the segment's name.
Browse the page. The box shows the variant that segment will see.
Click the ✕ next to the segment name (Clear audience preview) to go back to editing everything.
Preview only changes what you see in Studio. It doesn't affect shoppers or your data.
How LimeSpot decides which box to show
Each shopper sees at most one box in that spot.
A shopper who is in a variant's segment sees that variant.
A shopper who isn't in any variant's segment sees the default box.
Each segment can be used by only one variant of a box.
Choose segments that don't overlap. A shopper who belongs to the segments of two different variants sees none of them in that spot.
Keep the default box's Audience Segments empty so it covers everyone else.
Limits
Each variant must use a different box type, and it can't be a type that's already on the page elsewhere.
All variants share the default box's position. Moving the box moves every variant.
Deleting the default box deletes all of its variants.
