In Studio you place recommendation boxes directly on your real store pages. You can put a box anywhere, move it later, replace one of your theme's own product sections with a LimeSpot box, or remove it. Shoppers see nothing until you publish.

Add a box
Open Studio and choose a page type, such as Product, in the page selector in the top bar.
Hover the canvas near the top or bottom edge of a section. A line with a (+) button appears.
Click (+).
Pick a type under SUGGESTED, or hover Recommendation Box and pick from the full list.
Studio places the box and opens its settings. Adjust them, then click Save in the drawer.
Click Publish in the top bar to put the box live.
Before you publish
Click Save after you add, move or delete a box. Unsaved changes can be lost if you exit Studio or reload the page.
New boxes start from LimeSpot's recommended defaults for that type and page. The title starts as the type's name. For example, Bought Together on a Product page starts with the Bundle layout.
Tip
Keyboard users can press Alt+Arrow to show the placement lines, use the arrow keys to move between them, and press Enter to open the menu.
If you add a type you deleted earlier on the same page, Studio brings back its previous customizations (title, layout, product count and audiences) at the new spot.
Move a box
Make sure nothing is selected. Each LimeSpot box shows a colored type chip.
Hover the chip and click the move handle (Move).
A banner reads "Moving — click a placement line to drop, or press ESC to cancel".
Click the placement line marked Drop here where you want the box.
Click Save, then Publish when you're ready.
If a box shows different variants to different audiences, all variants move together.
Replace a theme section with a LimeSpot box
Many themes have their own "You may also like" or featured product sections. You can swap one for a personalized LimeSpot box that keeps the same look.
Click a product grid or carousel that belongs to your theme. The Replace with LimeSpot window opens.
Review what Studio detected: layout, number of products, image size and spacing, colors and fonts.
Optional: enter a Box title. If you leave it empty, Studio uses the section's current heading.
Click Replace with LimeSpot and pick a box type.
Click Save, then Publish.
The new box copies the section's carousel or grid layout, product count, image size, spacing and corner radius, and its detected fonts and colors. Deleting the replacement box, or undoing the change, brings the original theme section back.
Delete a box
Click the box on the canvas. The Recommendation Box window opens.
Click the trash icon on the Default Box card (Delete box).
Confirm with Delete.
Click Save, then Publish to remove it from your live store.
You can also click Delete Box at the bottom of the box's settings drawer. Deleting the default box removes all of its audience variants. To remove only one variant, use the trash icon on that variant's card.
Note
Studio remembers a deleted box's settings. If you add the same type to the same page later, your old settings come back.
Troubleshooting
You see | Why | What to do |
"Recommendation box added. Refresh the preview to see it on the page." | The box is in your draft, but the preview couldn't show it at that spot | Click Save, then refresh the preview. The box also shows on your live store after you publish |
"Box saved. It replaces this section when the page loads — refresh the preview to see it." | The replacement is in your draft, but the preview didn't update | Click Save, then refresh the preview |
"Could not move this element. Nothing was changed." | The move failed before anything was saved | Try again, or pick a different placement line |
"Could not finish moving this element. Your draft may already have the new position — check it before saving." | The move reached your draft, but the preview didn't confirm it | Check the page and use Undo if needed, then click Save |
"Could not remove this box. Reload Studio and try again." | The delete failed. Nothing changed | Reload Studio and try again |
"We couldn't load store pages. Retry." | The page list didn't load | Click Retry |
