You may have noticed in the Analytics overview there is a section titled Audience.

Here is a breakdown of how we calculate the Unique Visitors as well as the Sessions part.

Unique Visitors

The number of unique visitors that visit your store per day. E.g. If I visit today, I will be counted as 1 unique visitor for today. If I visit tomorrow, I will count as the unique visitor for tomorrow. Therefore, the stats for today and tomorrow, I would count as 2 unique visitors.

Our system has a user-merge mechanism. E.g. If I start browsing before logging in to the website, I will be accounted as a new daily visitor with UserID=1. After I login to my store account, I will be assigned as UserID=2. Our system then merges UserID 1+2 into 1 visitor for the purpose of user history and analytics.

If for any reason, my UserID=2 needs to do a re-authentication with our servers, since UserID=2 is new, I will be accounted again as a new daily visitor with UserID=2.

Any person who logs in to our app via app.limespot.com is counted as a unique daily visitor and session as well.

Sessions

This is based on the number of sessions of the unique daily visitor. This number will always be greater than or equal to the number of daily visitors. The users' sessions always expires after 30 minutes of inactivity. E.g. If I visit a store, I am added as a new unique daily visitor and also be assigned a session. Then I leave my computer and come back after 1 hour, I would not be counted as a new visitor but I would get assigned a new session in the system.
