Adding a Link to Your Navigation Menu

When you enable the Intelligent Product Pages and/or Top Picks you also need to add a new item to the navigation menu of your website to allow your shoppers to access these features. Here's how to do that:

  1. Activate the Top Picks Feature or Intelligent Product Pages Feature on your LimeSpot Admin panel.
  2. Go to your Shopify Admin panel.
  3. Click on Online Store on the left-hand navigation menu.
  4. Choose Navigation on the left-hand navigation menu that shows up.
  5. Click Edit link list under the Main Menu display that is shown.
  6. Click Add menu item. A new menu item will appear for that menu.
  7. To add a link for Top Picks:
    • Add a name for the link under Name - we recommend Top Picks for You.
    • Select Web address from the Link dropdown.
    • Enter #topPicks in the field for the URL.
  8. To add Intelligent Product Pages:
    • Add a name for the page under Name.
    • Select Page from the Link dropdown.
    • You will see a list of all your store's pages including the ones that you created on your LimeSpt admin panel, choose the one that you'd like to add to your navigation.
  9. Click Save.

Updating the Recommendation Box

Some Shopify Themes automatically add a Related Products box to your store by default. LimeSpot replaces this default setting with an intelligent engine to ensure your related products are accurate so you can sell more. Have a look on your Products and Checkout cart pages to see if your theme has a default related products box.
Some of Shopify themes have a default related product recommendation box on their product page such as Supply and Solo and some don't, such as Brooklyn.
You'll need to turn off your Theme's default settings if you already have a related products box on your website. Don't worry, it's easy: you just need to turn off a checkbox! Here's how:
  1. Go to your Shopify Administration panel.

  2. Click on Online Store on the left-hand navigation menu (Step 1 in the Graphic below).
  3. Choose Theme on the left-hand navigation menu that shows up (Step 2 in the Graphic below).
  4. Choose the Customize Theme option on the top right-hand corner of your theme.
  5. Choose the Product Pages on the left-hand menu.
  6. On the product pages, in the Related Product section, there should be a checkbox for disabling the default related products box, titled Enable Related ProductsShow Related Products, or something similar. Uncheck it.
  7. Click Save Changes in the bottom right-hand corner.

Your website will now utilize LimeSpot's Intelligent Product Recommendations.
Note: If you do not turn off the Default Related Products box you will have two related products boxes after installing LimeSpot. Some advanced themes will require additional configuration to turn off the default related products box; contact for support.
